We recommend that couples book their weddings one year in advance.
Couples need to meet with the priest, after booking their wedding date, for pre-marriage preparation and to ensure all papers are in place.
A copy of the baptismal certificate must be obtained at all times to make sure the person is an Orthodox. One of the God parents must be an Orthodox. One of the witnesses at the wedding must be an Orthodox in good standing.
Sacraments are administered to members of the parish. So, the person must be a member first. An individual must be a practicing Orthodox by attending church regularly and partake of the sacraments of the Church.
The priest must be careful not to administer the sacrament of marriage during fasting periods of the church.
