“For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.” ( taken from the Epistle of this Sunday)
Dear to Christ you who have put on Christ,
Happy New Year 2021.
I wish you all a blessed and healthy new year 2021. I would like to pray for all of us what St. Paul wrote in his epistle for this Sunday, that next year our resolution should be what St. Paul wrote that at the hour of our departure from this life we may say: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.” This should be our new year resolution, to fight sin and to finish our lives, the end of our race on this earth by keeping the True Faith of the Orthodox. To be faithful to God until the end of our lives so that the crown of eternal life will be given to us.
Bible Study will resume on Thursday January 14th.
Don’t forget to fill out your pledge form for 2021.
Father will be blessing homes wearing a mask. Father can not stay for coffee or to socialize at this time until the pandemic is over. Holy water will be available at the end of services on January 5th and 6th.
My prayer for us at St. George is what St. John the Baptist proclaimed: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”. May 2021 be a year of repentance for each one of us. To prepare the way for the Lord to our hearts, and to make our lives paths straight through confession and ascetical life.
May our Lord bless each one of us. Have a blessed year with the Lord. Make place for Christ in your homes.
In serving God together, I remain,
